During this green coffee foundation level course, we shall make an introduction to key topics that vary from growing and processing of the coffee plant, shipping and storage of green coffee up to its arrival at the roastery. After successfully taking the practical tests and final exam at this coffee academy, you’ll be issued a SCA Green Coffee Foundation certificate.

For intermediate level course, it is recommendable to have at least one year of practical experience in the field. During the course we shall address in more detail the following: principles of coffee production and processing (different types of defects found in green coffee, and their probable causes); the effects of altitude and environment on the quality of coffee; planning and management of your green coffee stock. After successfully taking the practical tests and final exam, you’ll be issued a SCA Green Coffee Intermediate certificate

For embarking on the coffee certification course at professional level, it is obligatory to have obtained the intermediate level first. At the end of this course you are able to: identify key aspects of coffee botany and farm management as well as the green coffee defects; construct and manage a green coffee portfolio; calculate the cost of green coffee production (contract negotiations); assess green coffee suppliers’ ability to meet criteria outlined in third party accreditation systems. Requirements for SCA Green Coffee Professional certificate: complete the practical tests and a final exam.
