Our coffee courses are both hands-on and specific. They are approved and taught by SCA certified trainers and address every distinct stage of the career. We walk you through the path from cultivation to the cup.

CERTIFIED SCA COURSES

The SCA courses are the most complete and highly regarded courses in the world of coffee.
They are given by trainers authorised by the institution itself and the best way to know whether someone is a true coffee professional.

abcoffee’s SCA courses are taught by people who actually work as baristas and roasters and they are as tailored as it can be: the minimum number of participants is one.
The issue of a SCA certificate has an extra cost which varies by each course and depends if you are SCA member or not.

Hands-on Courses

Our hands-on courses’ programme depends entirely on the student’s interests and needs.

It takes place during three eight-hour sessions that occur on disperse days so that the repetition of complex tasks facilitates the internalisation of processes. It’s a completely tailored programme that aims at creating baristas that are as experienced as they are knowledgeable.

HANDS-ON COURSE

In this course, we’ll teach you how to work with different espresso machines; how to prepare several types of beverages (espresso, americano, cappuccino, flat white); how to vaporise milk; what’s the importance of different types of grinders and grinds; how to organise your workstation functionally and also how to communicate the different characteristics of different beverages to clients.

HANDS-ON COURSE

This course will make you a specialist in brewing methods (V60, chemex, december, french press, aeropress, among others), it will teach you the influence of the grind; how to organize your workstation functionally and also how to communicate the different characteristics of the different beverages to clients.

Roasting

HANDS-ON COURSE

The roasting course will teach how to refine various roasting profiles, how to analyse the green coffee’s humidity and density, to analyse the colour of the roasted coffee, and to distinguish and avoid roasting defects.

Our basic Barista and Brewer courses last one day and they are meant for people who already work in the world of coffee but want to start specialising in this area.

This type of basic training is often forgotten in traditional coffee shops and we want to fill that void.
