Here at abcoffee we offer various coffee courses and make everything in our power to give you a top quality coffee training by bringing you the techniques, practices and theory of coffee (and everything in between).

One of our core areas of activity is offering SCA coffee courses. With regard to brewing course, we are authorised to issue the foundation, intermediate and professional level certification.

During this course that train your brewing skills, you’ll learn to master various methods of coffee brewing and identify as well as understand different factors that affect the quality of the final product, that is, the coffee in your cup.

 

In this foundation level course, we’ll address the topics like grinding profiles, different forms of extraction, measuring the intensity of coffee and its conformity to Brewing Control Chart. At the end of this course and after passing practical tests and one final exam, you’ll be issued a SCA Brewing Foundation certificate.

For this practical intermediate level course, it is recommendable to have at least one year of practical experience in the field. The focus of this training is to learn in detail how to adapt your grind to your brewing method in order to have the best possible cup of coffee, as well as to understand additional variables that contribute to the high quality of the final results. After successfully taking the practical tests and final exam at this coffee academy, you’ll be issued a SCA Brewing Intermediate certificate.

For embarking on this brewing course at professional level, it is obligatory to have obtained the intermediate level first. At the centre of the course are the following elements: effects of grind particle size and of different temperatures; levels of acidity in your coffee at various points within the brewing process; varying water qualities as well as different degrees of roast and their corresponding influences.
